Unlike other the guardian cats, like Luna and Artemis, Salem doesn't have any markings on his forehead. This he considers a good thing, so that he doesn't stand out that much. That's another thing, in the past, he wasn't a cat at all. He was another human general along with the Four Cites, under the Dark Princess' command. Back then his ego was large and at one point he actualy believed that he could rule over the Earth for himself instead of taking it over for the Dark Princess. He would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for one of his minions squealing on him. The Dark Princess, along with the Four Cites combined thier powers to punish him by putting him under a curse. He was to eternaly be the Dark Princess' bodyguard/guardian as a black cat, that when needed, can morph into 'The One Cat Freak Show' (see below). He cannot die unless the Dark Princess dies, or unless the curse is lifted.

Big Cat Morph Salem has the ability to morph into a large cat, mostly resembling a panther in size, color, etc, except for an odd large pair of black bat wings protruding from his shoulder blades. That in itself has gotten him the nickname of 'The One Cat Freak Show' from strangers who saw him before running away. Mamiko heard them and liked it so she also calls him that from time to time to get a reaction from him. |
